Development/Course
2016 - 2024
People began showing symptoms of Trump Derangement Syndrome in 2016, during the campaign for his first term as President. Some have continued suffering from it to this day. In others, it lay dormant until his campaign in 2024 reignited it. Many now view Trump’s return as an existential threat, triggering extreme emotions and behavior.
TDS can have a variable course, depending in part upon what President Trump is doing – such as signing Executive Orders or holding Press Conferences, and in part on how the person is feeling, whether their life is going smoothly or whether there are obstacles, losses or similarly frustrating events. Its course can also vary depending upon whether TDS causes significant life events, such as divorce, family crises, termination from employment or arrests for criminal behavior.
